Space Outlaw Alice
Hissatsu Studios is a brazilian indie game studio founded by Lucio de Godoy in April 2017. Its main inspirations are the 8-bit and 16-bit era videogames. Hissatsu Studios is currently working on its first project, Space Outlaw Alice, a pixel art game with distinct platformer and horizontal shoot'em up segments alternating in a single adventure. It is inspired by the NES/Famicom classics and some of their technical limitations.
Lucio, a graphic designer living in São Paulo, Brazil, has been playing videogames since he was four years old. He always flirted with the idea of drawing characters and thinking about plots for games. Mid-2015, Lucio was hanging out with some of his friends and talking about dream jobs. Upon remembering all his childhood stories and game designs that never materialized, Lucio realized the desire to develop games was still there. Aiming to use his ideas and current skills to forge great adventures, the first of many brainstorming sessions began.Hissatsu Studios' first project
After studying the tools available and testing his skills on experimental projects, Lucio started to plan his first commercial game. Thus was born the concept of Space Outlaw Alice, a retro game that pays homage to the NES/Famicom classics as well as the mecha anime genre. The main features to be highlighted are the distinct platformer and horizontal shoot'em up segments alternating in a single game. Regarding the studio, Lucio eventually found in the name "Hissatsu Studios" the perfect representation of his burning and resolute desire to make games. The studio was officially opened on April 28th, 2017, followed by a playable demo of Space Outlaw Alice. Now
Hissatsu Studios is currently working on Space Outlaw Alice, which is planned for a 2020 release on desktop PCs.
